How To Thrive Through Fall and Winter As Your Best Self

Let's face it. When the tan wears off and the days get shorter, it's hard to feel your most confident self. The Threads team wants to help you beat those fall and winter blues by staying, feeling, and looking good. Here's a little list we made just for you. 🫶

Make Vitamin D your new bff.

Incorporating Vitamin D into your daily routine can help compensate for the lack of sunlight, support your health (especially during flu season), and provide some much-needed energy. With less natural sunlight in fall and winter, Vitamin D is essential for maintaining optimal levels in your body, helping to boost your immune system and combat seasonal depression. You can take supplements or find it in food sources like: fish, eggs, and figs!

A little self tan never hurt.

For some, putting on a layer of self tan is the little confidence boost they needed. There are a lot of brands out there, so here's some of our favourites: Bali Body, St Tropez, Luxy Tan, and Tan Luxe. Be sure to have a solid shave and exfoliation routine before applying. One or two coats and you are ready to take on any occasion while always looking like you just came home from Mexico. Don't love self tan products? No problem! Try our Sheer Contour tights in Tan (or a shade that's slightly darker than your complexion). It's the quickest (and warmest) way to add the illusion that you've been in the sun.

Grab a journal and get it all out.

Spending an absurd amount of time inside can come with a lot of (sometimes negative) thoughts and feelings. You can maintain and manage your overall well-being by having a healthy outlet to release your built-up emotions. Get yourself a cute journal, decorate it with stickers, and let it all out girl.

Prioritize skincare.

The cold will take a toll on your skin, leaving it dry and dull. It's essential to adopt a skincare routine that may differ from your usual one to maintain a healthy glow while combating dryness. Integrate a rich moisturizer and hydrating serums. Don't forget to use a gentle exfoliator to remove dead skin cells! In addition, consider using a humidifier to guarantee a moist environment. Your skin can stay radiant and revitalized with the proper care, even in the coldest months.

Move that body.

Any movement is good movement. Not a gym girly? That's okay! By doing low-impact exercises such as a walk, yoga, or pilates, you stimulate both your mind and body with minimal effort. These workouts can all be done at home or outside.

Remember, taking care of yourself during this time is not just about looking good—it's about feeling good. Prioritizing your physical and mental well-being will help you navigate the challenges of the colder months with ease and confidence. You got this!
